Gate Watchers: Tower Defense · Terms of Use
Terms of Use: Gate Watchers
Effective: 26 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and LonkeroStudio, an independent game developer based in Finland, for your use of Gate Watchers ("the game"). Our privacy policy, at lonkerostudio.com/gate-watchers/privacy/, explains how personal data is handled.
By installing or playing the game you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not install the game, or uninstall it.
1. Who may play
The game is made for players aged 13 and over. It shows fighting with zombies. If you are under 18, or a minor where you live, a parent or guardian should read these terms and agree to them with you. We do not ask your age.
2. The game is free
The game costs nothing. It has no ads, no purchases and no online features. Your statutory rights as a consumer apply as far as the law gives them to free digital content.
3. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play the game on devices you control while these terms are in force. The game, its code, art, music, voices and names belong to LonkeroStudio or its licensors; you receive permission to play, not ownership. The open-source components in the game are listed, with their licences, in the game's About screen, and their licences apply to those components.
Coins, supplies, soldiers and other in-game items are part of the game only. They have no money value and cannot be bought, sold or exchanged.
4. Videos, streams and screenshots
You may record, stream and publish videos and screenshots of the game on social media and video services, including on channels that earn money, with no fee, no permission request and no credit needed. Please do not misrepresent the game, and do not suggest that your content is official or endorsed by us.
5. What you may not do
- Copy, sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the game, a modified version of it, or any part of it such as its music, voices or art, or publish it in another store or download site.
- Decompile or reverse-engineer it, except as far as the law allows despite this term.
- Use the game to break the law.
- Remove ownership or licence notices, or use our names, logo or icon to suggest an endorsement or affiliation we have not given.
6. Updates and changes to the game
We may update the game, and change or remove features and content, only for these reasons: to keep it working on new devices and Android versions, to fix faults and security problems, to balance the difficulty and the game's economy, to add content, or to comply with the law, Google Play's rules or the terms of a component the game uses. Changes cost you nothing and are described in the store release notes.
If a change would affect your access to or use of the game negatively in more than a minor way, we will tell you in advance, and you may end these terms free of charge.
Google Play's terms apply to downloading the game. We may stop publishing the game. An installed copy keeps working as long as your device runs it.
7. Your saved game
Your progress is stored only on your device. We do not keep a copy and cannot restore one. It is not backed up to your Google account, so it is deleted when you uninstall the game or clear its data, and can be lost through a device fault or reset. Losing your town in the game, when its HQ falls, is part of how the game is played and not a fault.
8. If the game does not work as it should
The game must work as a game of this kind normally does and match its store description. If it does not, tell us at support@lonkerostudio.com with your device and what happened. We will fix it free of charge within a reasonable time. If we cannot, or do not, you may end these terms.
These terms do not shorten any time limit or add any condition that the law does not.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury, for intent, gross negligence or fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, and nothing limits your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, and as far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss or loss of profit. A saved game lost because the game was faulty is handled under section 8. We do not promise that the game will always be available or work on every device.
10. Ending these terms
You may end these terms at any time by uninstalling the game. We may end your licence if you seriously or repeatedly break section 5; you must then stop using the game, and we will tell you why. Sections 5, 9 and 12 continue to apply after the end.
11. Changes to these terms
We will publish any new version at lonkerostudio.com/gate-watchers/terms/ with a new effective date, and announce a material change in the store release notes before it takes effect. A change never applies to events before it and never takes away a right the law gives you. If you do not accept a new version, you may stop playing and uninstall the game.
12. Applicable law and disputes
If you live in the EU or the EEA, these terms are governed by the law of your country of residence, you keep every protection its mandatory consumer law gives you, and you may bring proceedings in its courts. We will bring proceedings against you only there.
If you live in the United Kingdom, the same applies under UK law.
Everywhere else, these terms are governed by Finnish law, and disputes go to a competent court in Finland, unless the law of your country requires otherwise.
Please write to us first; most problems can be solved that way. If we cannot agree:
- Consumers in Finland can take the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board (Kuluttajariitalautakunta, https://www.kuluttajariita.fi/en/), after first contacting the Consumer Advisory Service.
- Consumers elsewhere in the EU can turn to their national consumer dispute body or to the European Consumer Centre in their country (https://ec.europa.eu/info/live-work-travel-eu/consumer-rights-and-complaints/resolve-your-consumer-complaint/european-consumer-centres-network-ecc-net_en). The European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025 and is no longer available.
13. General
- If part of these terms is invalid or does not bind you, the rest still applies.
- Not enforcing a term once does not waive it.
- You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours if the game changes owner; your rights stay the same.
- We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
- These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about the game.
