Privacy Policy: Gate Watchers

This policy describes how LonkeroStudio handles personal data when you play Gate Watchers on Android. It applies alongside our Terms of Use at lonkerostudio.com/gate-watchers/terms/.

The short version

Gate Watchers collects no personal data. It has no ads, no gameplay statistics, no accounts, no sign-in, no purchases and no chat, and it does not connect to the internet. Your town and progress stay on your device, and we never receive them.

1. Who is responsible

The data controller is LonkeroStudio, an independent game developer based in Finland, in the European Union. Because we are established in the EU, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to our processing for every player, wherever you live.

2. What is processed, and why

Your saved game. Your progress and settings are stored in the app's private storage on your device, so the game remembers where you were. It contains no name, contact details, photos or location. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and the app does not let Android back it up to your Google account. It is deleted when you uninstall the game or clear its data.

E-mails you send us. If you write to us, we process your e-mail address and whatever you choose to write, to answer you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). We keep the e-mails until the matter is settled and delete them within 12 months of the last message, unless they are needed for a legal claim.

Nothing else. We make no automated decisions about you and build no profile.

3. What the app can access

The app asks for no permissions and has no internet access. It cannot reach your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos or files.

The game's About screen has links to this policy and the terms. Tapping one opens your web browser, which then works under its own privacy settings. Our website, lonkerostudio.com, sets no cookies.

4. Google Play

You download the game from Google Play. Google processes data about your use of its store under its own privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy), as an independent controller. Google may also send us anonymous totals, such as installs, ratings and crash reports, if you have allowed your device to share them. We cannot link these to you.

5. Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Because the game collects nothing, in practice this concerns only e-mails you have sent us. Write to support@lonkerostudio.com. We answer within one month.

You may also complain to a data protection authority. Ours is the Finnish Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutettu, https://tietosuoja.fi/en/). You may instead use the authority where you live (EEA list: https://edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/about-edpb/members_en; UK: https://ico.org.uk/).

6. Children

The game is made for players aged 13 and over. We do not ask your age, and the game collects no data from anyone, of any age. The age at which a young person can agree to online services on their own differs across the EU, from 13 to 16 depending on the country (13 in Finland). A player under that age should ask a parent or guardian before writing to us.

7. Changes to this policy

We will publish any new version at lonkerostudio.com/gate-watchers/privacy/ with a new effective date. If a future version of the game starts to process personal data, for example through ads or statistics, we will update this policy and announce it in the store release notes before that version is released. Where the law requires your consent, the game will ask for it first.
